HIT and RUN help....

Today I was hit and run in a parking lot, I was wondering if I claim it through insurance if it would go up? This would be my first claim for anything, no accidents or anything. Can someone please clairify this for me? Thanks.

It does not matter. Then Insurance don't give a rat crap whoes fault it is. It will go up but not as much if it was your fault and you had to fix the other car also. The insurance companys are a rip off. You can pay them for 30 years and nothing happen and one day something does up the price goes.:finger:

I think that definitely varies then company to company. I got a little scuff in a parking while I was here at work (not my fault) and despite paying for the whole job minus my deductable, my insurance company did not raise my premium. If it's not your fault, then you don't pay for it--at least that' been my experience.

The fact that the insurance company had to pay out, regardless of why, will go on your insurance record. It's up to the company, and the underwriter in particular whether that will affect your rates or not. This is something that could also follow you to another insurance company. Even things like getting a windshield replaced for "free" can adversely effect your rates.

"Fault" means nothing, only that they had to write you a check.
