F22A1 can take high-boost?

Is it true?

Also, I've looked on the posts about building a custom turbo and none of them really answered this thing I have in mind. What turbo (from another car) can accomodate my low-compression engine for high-boost. I've looked into FMax and DRAG but see if there is a more cost-effecient way to boost. I am spraying right now and I love it but want to see the capabilities of a turbo.

how much boost??

They say 9 psi on the stock internals.
I spent the whole day at over 4 shops looking into options for my engine f22. Turbo sounds good for up to 250 hp on the sohc. Possibly on stock internals.
If you need any other information you can ask but i prolly dont have any more info.

INFO

I was told that up to 9 psi is ok on the stock internals. The guys i talked to have built 3 or 4 f22 accord with turbo and they say it works great. Im going to turbo my f22 as soon as i can save up 3500$. Thats a t3t4 turbo with the full rev hard kit with intercooler and install for only 3500$. Well that sounded like a good deal to me. Im looking for a good t3t4 turbo for sale if anyone has one they wana let go of. then it will be much cheaper.

when i had my 95 prelude S..
i considered doing turbo.. but i traded that in to get a 98 vtec
the low comp pistons on the f22 seem good for turbo.. however 250 hp is not going to be easy to get from the f22 on stock internals.. its hard enough on the h22....
you guys consider just doing the h22 swap?
the f22 is an accord motor.. preludes are so much more fun with vtec and 7200rpm shifts.. truste me...

Opps I didn't even look at your screenname or mod list.

I thought you drove an Accord, let me see you have a 96 Lude S.
unless I'm mistaken that is non-vtec right? one good thing about boosting non-vtec motors, is that they are easier to tune.

If your set on boosting you F22 (no engine swapping) and If you plan on keeping stock internals I wouldn't boost higher than 6-8 PSI depending on what type kit you get FMAX, DRAG, Custom etc.

with 6 PSI you probably jump to about 190-220 Flywheel HP, thats about the same as a VTEC Lude. the plus side is F22 internals might be inexpensive.

I would do this, call around and see how much a:
-F22 shortblock costs
-F22 Turbo pistons, rods, etc costs
-F22 Turbo kit costs

and if you dont get a whole lot of info here i would check out the accord forums at www.h-o-n-d-a--t-e-c-h and www.h-o-n-d-a-a-c-u-r-a-.net
