Determine Prelude Model?

Hi all,

I just bought a 1995 Prelude. I was told it's an Si, and I want to verify. It's definetly not a VTEC. It's a 5-speed manual though.

I've flipped through the manual and tried to see if there were distinguishing things that seperated the S from the Si.

Are there other models in the US besides S and Si?

Also, how can I tell which engine I have? (Is it written somewhere?)

Thanks!

look to the left of the exhaust manifold. on the block there is a stamp. h22a1 = vtec, h23a1 = si, f22a1 = s. let us know which you've got, lets see some pics too. ;)

edit: also on the drivers-side door jamb, there should be a decal that will tell you which trim you have.

look inside the door jamb on the driver's side. there's a sticker there that says the model and all that good stuff.

as for the engine... the engine code is written on the block to the left of the exhaust manifold and near the transmission housing. It should start off with H23, H22, or F22. H23's are on Si's, H22's are on VTEC models, and F22's are on the S models (assuming no engine swap was done).

4bidden,

Thanks for the VIN info! It's too dark and cold for me to find the engine code tonight and the sticker is not on the door jamb.

It looks as if I hav an Si.

I do need to repair some things. The display on the cassette doesn't seem to work and the antenna is broken off (the motor seems to still work).

I have some questions on wheels but I'll ask those in the wheels forum.
