Sorry to be a jackass and eat up forum space but I'm really in a bind and I kind of need fast resolution. Super quick back story; I had an integra for a while and I recently found out I had a little sister(I'm adopted) who was without a car(it's december, its cold out) so I gave her my Teg and "upgraded" to a 97 prelude. I've owned the car for about a month and a half, and on Christmas eve(no lie) My car just randomly began complete stalls when I engaged the clutch. This was rather abrupt, no problems with this until the day of. When I got it home I noticed the car idling roughly so I checked the oil. I was completely below the dipstick; it took two quarts+ to fill it up. I then started the engine back up, only to notice that there was a knock. Its not what Id call overtly loud, but it can definitely be heard coming from the block(no doubt). Obviously anything I say at this point is speculation, and I'm not an engine guru, I'm in over my head. So basically, anyone have any ideas in general, that might be more educated than mine? Im taking it to a honda tech on Wed, but from what I've read on this site, my engine has likely suffered some cylinder wall scoring or other non cost effective damage.
I guess the overall point of this post is:
A.) To get an opinion/advice/preliminary diagnosis of the affliction of my current block.
B.) Any ideas on where to find a reliable direct H22A4 swap for my car(I'm not trying to pimp my ride) I'm just trying to make my car a reliable daily driver; as I just bought it, I'm not rolling in dough.
C.) Any idea what I should expect to pay for a swap(the block and the labor)? just roughly, I know its a best guess question.
I cannot overstate how immensely appreciated any help would in this matter. Anyone with any input is more than welcome to pm me.
(PS. The day after Christmas, my sister called me to let me know the Integra I gave her got rear ended by a drunk driver. Awesome)
