if i remember correctly.. it's adjustable. Check your helm.

mine does it a tiny bit more than midway toward the driver.

what position of the engagement point do most of u guys prefer?

 

^^ Yeah mine is about the same. It was hard for me to drive when I first got it cause my other car engaged immediately, but now I'm used to it.

 

mine engages at about 25% of the travel length, from the floor

 

Mine engages towards the top, I have a little bit of slack though. About halfway down I get a little friction but not enough to accelerate hard with.

 

mine engages about 1/2-3/4 of the way up towards the driver

 

Mine goes probably about halfway too.

I'm assuming since it does engage there, its ok to shift there as well?

 

when my tranny was swapped, it engaged almost to the top of the pedal, and i readjusted it to engage at about halfway, maybe a little higher than half.

 

Check your clutch fluid if it's at the floor - I had to have my slave and master replaced because it was leaking

 

Girlnalude: what did you do to adjust this? I have a Helm's manual, but haven't seen a way to adjust the engagement point. Mine begins to grab when the pedal is released about 3/4ths from the floor, I would like it to begin around 1/2. I've already adjusted the pedal free play to approximately .5" as recommended, and I only have about 5k miles on a new clutch.

 

I've found that the clutch engagement can change as you drive. If I sit at a long light, and hold the clutch in, it engauges almost immediatly. If I put it in neutral at the light, the engaugment is more towards halfway.

I always wondered why this was, no stick car I drove b4 really exibited this, but all were cable clutch, so it may be related to the hydraulics but I don't know.

I don’t think it is good for you throw out bearing if u leave the clutch engaged for a long time, but I have noticed that the engagement paint moves on my clutch from time to time.

Usually my clutch engages about ¾ or the way up (if not more), but it changes every now and then.

 

i know this is old. but. my clutch engages at about 90% off the floor. It was at about 75%, then i put in a brand new clutch, disc, and bearing. Now it is about 90% OFF the floor. like, 2 inches before it's all the way out.

I don't get it, what could cause this? I replaced the slave cylindar, do i need to replace the master as well?

And i also didn't realize that the clutch had to re mate with the flywheel. So i tore my clutch up when i first got it in. i think it slips a little more than it should. Is this real bad? do i need to just get another new clutch?
