Well, gas prices are heading into the stratoshpere, again
What are you guys getting for the 1988-1991 2.0 Si Preludes? Auto vs manuals?
My 96 isn't too good on gas, especially since I can't resist the VTEC

Just curious what the 2.0's get.

i assume you don't actually let it get close to empty...

300miles / 16 gallon tank = 19mpg... i trust you're one of those people who fills it up when the light comes on. that stupid light comes on when you have like 4 gallons left.

I would bet I get the worst mileage out of all the stock 5th gens--I VTEC all the time--I get out 20 mpg in the city and 24 on the highway

Well, I do a lot of HWY driving(at like 80+ mph= 4,000+ rpms), plus more than a little CTY Vtecing, and I am getting 25-27 mpg on average(non-reformulated gas). Pretty good considering I do Vtec more than I should to get that kind of mileage(isn't it rated at 22/26?)

i think the correct way to calculate gas mileage is:

miles driven since PREVIOUS fill up
__________________________________

# of gallons for current fill up

so if you drove 250 miles since your last fill up, and you filled 10 gallons this time, your mileage is 25mpg...

Sure about that 22/27? I could swear it was 22/26 for 5 spd. Anyone else confirm?

i usually fill up around 290-300.. and my receipt says i filled up 11-12 gallons continuosly.

so that's 25-26mpg

i do a lot of commuting at 80mph.. and a lot of vtecing..

in the city & combo of hwy w/fill-up I get about 360 miles on the average.

w/just hwy milage I get over 400miles

which I think is good for what I have done!

man, i hardly vtec during my commute and i still only get around 22mpg. I have yet to go over 275 in one tankful...maybe my failing O2 sensor is killing my mileage

OK, this topic again, for a reason.

It is weird for me that I got about 28mpg highway, but 26 city if drive it easy( like in VTEC range once or twice a day). When I drive it really easy(Like VTEC once everyweek or so...) I can get 29-30 combined.
But, I have seen it only once.

jmcn was correct, 22/27 for 5spd(base and SH) and 22/26 for SS.

23-26 mpg depending on how spirited i'm feeling during that tank of gas.

unless i get stuck in traffic, then it falls to 19 mpg or so.
