is it a cool air intake?? if so they all sound the same. i say you save your money and get one on ebay for like 40 bucks. if you want just slap on a weapon r sticker
all cool air intakes look almost the same and does it's job pretty equally.

Do not

I repeat,

*Do* *not* attempt to type with Caps Lock on, as it has been known to has SPDS, also known as Sudden Poster Death Syndrome - suspected indirect causes include reader anger and a massively overblown ego stemming from the self-importance of writing in all caps.

While stickers have been known to give around 50-100hp, depending on the riceboy and application, the Weapon R intake itself is for sound and show only.

Actually, KQ, you have to see the Weapon R to believe it - it's a short ram with... well... just look. No, it's not a CAI - no 3rd gens can have just a simple bolt-on CAI without battery relocation.

no i dont just want to slap on a sticker. I am not going for looks. I want to add a little something something to my car without spending too much cause I dont know how much longer I am gonna have the car. I am actually thinking about buying a new car and I just want to throw a bolt on carbon fiber weapon r intake on there for time being. So you guys are saying that it sounds pretty nice? worth the investment at $180?

actually i saw it on eautoworks.com they have it listed for 3rd gen prelude si do you think it would still fit mine considering it is a 3rd gen prelude S not SI so after hearing that would you assume that you wouldnt have to relocate the battery?

Save your money since your selling your car. That weapon-r intake looks like it sucks up small children.
It probably sounds just as nice as any other short-ram intake, but it doesn't produce any power. Short ram intakes have the problem of sucking in hot air from inside the engine bay, and hot air is thinner than cold air. The less air you get, the less power your car produces.

The dynos you see of the Dragon intake are probably with an open hood - so the intake gets to suck cold air from outside the engine bay. Of course, you'd never get to drive with an open hood...

va_beachlude what do you mean? sucks up small children? too big? and i figure that if i sell it i can either sell it with the intake in there or just take the intake off and sell that by itself.

to be quite honest, this may sound *** but i want to have something that will scream and sound good until i get the new ride. i want to test around and see if the whole car modification thing is for me ya know?

You'll be losing money either way. Even if you never use the intake, you'll have to sell it for less than you bought it...

If you're keeping your car for a year or less, it's probably not worth it - but that's a decision that's up to you.

Dude, why not make your own CAI?? Lots of people have done this. You can use whatever you want for piping (PVC, or that piping stuff behind the dryer) whatever. But they are CAI and they DO make power. All for about $15.

if you dont want to make your own, try ludespeed's cold air intake for 3g.

nah basically, the answer i am looking for right now is, if i go ahead and get the weapon r dragon intake, will i be happy with the sound? does it sound good?

If you're just going for sound, just get a aftermarket muffler. Tsudo, for example, gives a decent, deep (not tinny) sound, and, unlike the Weapon R intake, people will see your exhaust. One of my friends has a 3rd gen with a Tsudo DTM-style muffler, and it sounds pretty good to me. Oh, they cost a little less than that Weapon R intake.

Besides, it seems like no one on this board has a Weapon R intake in their Prelude.
