Replaced the pads on a friends Prelude last night. On the passenger side the pad wear was even ---> however, on the driver side the outer pad was worn significantly more than the inner pads. Is this due to a bad caliper or something else? Should he have the caliper rebuilt?

Also, if a re-build is in order, then both sides should be done correct?

it could be an issue with the caliper not working properly. Also the brakes could have needed to be bled and they werent.Those are some issues why a pad would wear uneven.

did u check the slides? Those can seize up and cause uneven brake wear. I see that a lot.

I'll have him bleed the brakes, then we'll see what we have...

Does the car drift to one side when you brake hard? If it does sounds like one of your calipers isn't functioning, could be stuck. Happened to me before cept my was in the rear. One pad was all worn down the other was pretty much new.
