I don't have a prelude. I am drivin around a sentra but I have a question about the tanabe exhausts. Tanabe makes one for my car, but I don't know how it sounds. I don't know anyone with a tanabe and was curious if someone could enlighten me.

I know what most honda mufflers sound like, but I have never heard a tanabe. So how deep is the sound? Is it ricey or does it rattle? Or is is deep like a growl? Is it loud as compared to a greddy or Apex-i? If you could compare it with anothe muffler, I should be able to get a good idea of it.

BTW, my other choice for mufflers is stromung. Any thoughts on that?

well, i've never heard any tanabe so i can't really help you there, all i've heard of them is that they are pretty deep at idle but when you get into them they are very loud. the stromung exhaust i have heard, it is on a 2.5RS so of course it will be a little different but its got a nice sound. deep and quiet at idle, never really gets too loud, although he has complained that it is going to rust...hope that helps
Tanabe makes several differnet models for hondas... They range from deep and not so loud to screaming...

It really depends on which style you're looking at.
The Tanabe Type 'G' sounds like something very serious is coming your way. I like it.
was going to get the racing medallion. n how's that one?

From what people have told me, the Racing Medallion is hella loud, but a good loud. Very deep and V8 sounding.

i have a racing medalion and i love it....i it is kinda loud, but it has such a nice tone, not tinny or raspy at all....great mod
I just went to Miami muffler and they gave me a quote of $260 for midpipe and install. The midpipe is 2.5" mandrel bent, but I would have to supply the muffler. I would probably get a greddy or tanabe racing medalion.

The biggest advantage is that I won't have to pay for shipping. What does the crowd think about this idea/price?

so were you in the barbershop quartet, out in skokie, illinois? <limps away> (sorry, couldn't resist
)

hmm as for exhaust piping, i remember back in the day (last year) when i got mine done. i had 2.25" crush bent (yea, yea, i know) put in along with the muffler install (the muffler i supplied myself), and they only charged me 80. of course, i had to go back and get a glass pack cause it was so damn loud, so that was another 40. and the tip silencers were another 20. but still, 260 seems a bit pricey for just the piping.

then again, i AM getting yet another exhaust in the summer. mugen here i come!

good luck choosing the right noise maker for your car.
i was looking at the tanabe g-power myself, i hear it's not as loud as the other tanabe's. if you're getting the piping done yourself, it could end up being alot louder, since the muffler is only part of the equation, and the full cat-back has piping that's made for the exhaust you're getting.
