I have a 2000 prelude, and had taken out the back seat along with both seat belts. im now trying to put the seats back in along with the seat belts but it appears that the seat belts are locked up. you can pull really hard and the belts do not lengthen at all. and they do not retract either. both the passenger and driver side are both locked up. does anyone have any ideas about how to fix this? thank you

Most people don’t know this, but seatbelts have a lifetime warranty. And while some dealerships won’t want to admit that safety belts are under warranty, most will replace a bad seatbelt, completely free of charge. The lifetime warranty generally covers seat belts that don’t retract properly or will no longer latch. It only makes sense -- Honda is worried about liability claims if a defective seatbelt causes someone to be injured.

I know it to be true, though. Put it all back together and go to your dealership.
