I've been using Mobil 1 Synthetic 10w-30 for awhile now but switched to Penzoil 5W-30 fossil oil today, i'm expierencing a consumption rate of .75 to 1 quart every 1000 miles with the synthetic and when I change the oil i *DO* find some splatters on the bottom of the transmission housing, a drip drop at the top of the filter and i've checked the oil sender, none there, is the adapter on my motor where the oil filter attachs not allowing a seal? Or maybe is there an engine seal around this area that could be leaking?

You may have ruined your seals by switching from synthetic (which you have used for a long time) and going back to fossil. That is a big no, no.

I think you have the same problem I'm having.. my cars leaking oil slowly I have tiny drips on the floor after I drive the car for a while. I see oil drops on the oil filter. Theres oil on the outside of my oil pan too. You might be leaking from your rear main seal. Switching from synthetics and regular fossil or vise vera cause the seals to leak. I'm guessing it's your rear main seal. If it is get ready for a big job to fix. You'll have to take out the tranny and evreything to get to it. Big bucks..
