The OBDII computers have more strict emmision controls so you loose a few hp. It also self adjusts itself back to stock settings on its own over time. If you're just doing bolt ons and minor work, I don't think its a worthy investment. However if you get into some high power you're going to want obd 1 and maybe a wide band o2 sensor depending on what you're doing.
