MUST you use new wheel studs with new wheels?

The wheel shop sent me some that were a tiny bit too long, so I used my old ones for the moment!
But why do garages always send you new studs?
Is it something to do with the rim breaking in, or simply to make sure the chamfer is right on the stud against the wheel?

It's ARSENAL.
If you're gonna take the piss, then at least do it properly

Better call them tomorrow then!
Is it alright to drive it as it is, or shall I run the proper studs without the cover on?

When I got new wheels for VW, I used the old studs...never a problem.
Just keep an eye on them and don't forget to re-torque them after 100 miles or so.
