Is there any other way to clean the K&N filter of my DC air intake without going out in this muggy weather to go buy the recharger kit?

not that i'm aware of...you need special cleaning solution & oil to recoat your filter. do it, your car will thank you for it.

The recharger kit helps alot. the cleaner does a wonderful job of cleaning the dirt off, and washing the old oil off the filter. And the Oil that you put back on is a MUST!

Don't clean your filter too often though. like it says in the instructions, the dirt that gets trapped on the filter element actually helps to trap smaller dirt particles. I've washed mine once, @ 25,000 miles, and won't wash it again till I hit about 50k.

At least the filter is easy to get to with the hot-air intakes...mine can be a real PITA!

by the way chris, if you don't mind, can you tell me how much your clutch/flywheel setup cost you and what was the price breakdown including installation. I'm looking to do the exact same upgrade soon!
