So, I'm planning to do a new PC build. Wondering if anyone here has done anything interesting. Post pics. :bigthumb:

If I can pull it off, I'm hoping to do a wall-mount, dual-loop water-cooled build using copper tubing... but I'm still in the planning phases. Has anyone done anything interesting or anything custom that they're proud of?

I'm going to have to upgrade my computer soon. Deciding between off the shelf Alienware or building again. Built the last 3 or 4 desktops, so I'm partial to building. :)

Well, I've started ordering parts, but water-cooling parts are EXPENSIVE!!! I'm going to end up spending more on water-cooling parts than I do on the actual components.

But, I got a sweet deal on some addlink S70 M.2 SSDs from Amazon. I'd never heard of the brand before I started this build, but it's getting good reviews, punches above its weight, and is about 2/3 the price of its name-brand competitors. From what I've read, it's got the same components as the Seagate Firecuda.

The more I research this build, it seems like the biggest challenge is going to be finding fittings that work with copper tubing. I think I've finally founds some, but again.... $$$! :(

should be an awesome build!

I built a system last year at this time fully intending to do a custom loop. But after pricing it out i got cold feet and went AIO. It's ridiculous how much they charge for parts!! The AIO worked just fine with the i9-9900k overclock goals I had.

I never took finished pictures but I whored up the LED.

Post pictures of your build!

Are you going full custom case or starting out with something like a thermaltake core case?

Reddit and pcpartpicker has a bunch of awesome profiles you can reference. I really like the ones that carbon fiber the base and add leds.

Do you need water cooling for some particular use?
No. No particular reason at all, other than the fact that I wanted to see if I could.

I'll definitely post pics... assuming it turns out decent. :)

Full custom... wall-mount. Since I'm using copper-tubing, I'd like to go with some sort of weathered-wood or faux-hide/leather background. I have big dreams, but just not sure if I have the skills to pull it off, yet.

I need to do a bit more research on parts/controllers. I bought an Arduino with the intent to write a custom program to control pumps/fans/guages/LEDs, but it looks like my mobo has quite a bit of built-in functionality, so I might just use that. I also got a free controller from EKWB as part of their Black Friday deal, but after I looked at it more closely, I don't think it has the power to do what I want. I still have lots to learn & understand. I almost feel like I need an EE degree to figure out how to manage all of these things.

That's the only reason I spent two grand doing a ****ty paintjob on my truck in my back yard. I always told myself I could, and wanted to find out. I am really happy you are pursuing this project, get to it dude! :bigthumb:

The pics don't do the mistakes justice, it's a terrible paintjob.
