I was wondering ! I'm about to install my Mugen header (used) and so DO I need any new gaskets before I install the header.

I went to Honda and bought a new exhaust manifold gasket but how about from the down pipe to the cat, do I need to put a gasket there or can I use the one that's there right now ???

Yes I would get that gasket. Chances are that it is rusted to the stock downpipe, I know mine was. Also do you have the two gaskets that go from the header primaries to the A (down) pipe? If not you'll need those.

Just remember to torque everything down to spec and check it after you drive for a while. The bolts shouldn't loosen since all the bolts on the header are fastened with locking type nuts, but nothing's perfect.

Okay just tell me if I'm right on this:

Header to the downpipe there are
2 o-rings

From the down pipe to the cat there is big 0-ring

So do I still need a gasket from the downpipe between the o-ring to the cat???

Thanks for your help !

Ummm I'm not sure what you mean by the "

But if your talking about the O-ring between the downpipe and the cat, then yes get and replace that as well. It's probably about $2 and since you have it off I would do it for sure. To me it looks like some kind of "crush" O ring so I'm not sure how good it would work the second time around.
