i jess raced a 5.0 mustang righ now, he passed me up and i caught up to him, give him a nod, he gives a nod back, i tol him to roll down his window Me: hey u wanna run? Him: naw your car is too much Me: naw its slow, inline 4, nothing compared to mustangs Him: what have u got on there? Me: nothing juss intake Him: oh me too, Me: cmon lets run once. So the light turns green and we both gun it. He peeled out a little while i gained a lead on him, and i juss kept pulling until the middle of 3rd gear where he gave up and i was like up by 2-3 cars, so we slowed down and talk and he was like what are you gona do to it, i was like turbo!! =P, hmm yea, pretty nice guy =] btw my car is 92preludesi , he also commented how my car looks new

woa, thats crazy, just an intake and u took out the new stangs GTs? even if he was auto he shoulda beat u. but ya, im not here to judge if its real or not. good race
no not the new ones, i dont know if its stick or auto, its those old ones, probably around 90 or something
if that's true, congratulations. his car must have been ailing.

normally, a stock 5.0 will run aboout 15 flat in the 1/4... which is more than a second faster than a 3rd gen SI!
A 92 is a 4th gen Si.

If its a heavy older auto its possible to keep up. The auto GT's were high 15 second cars stock back then. The Prelude Si's ran high 15 to low 16 second times stock. I doubt the Mustang is in new condition now..they get tired as they age. Race a 5 speed 5.0 though, especially an LX, and he will hand you your tail.
whoa, my bad... why did i think '93 was the first year for the 4th gen? did the vtec not show up until 93?

The VTEC came out in the states in 93...the Si had already been out for 1 year.
