mp3 players in genral sound terrible. any of the kenwood excelon decks sound excelent. all the rest of their stuff (amps, speakers) i wouldnt put in my moms car. i have had 3 excelon decks (x811, x815, vz907) and never had problems with any of them, and love the way they sound and have great features. plus the d-mask thing is sweet.
Dont know about you, but my Alpine MP3 changer sounds better than my Alpine CD player. Sure, I get a few MP3s that are bad, but I can weed those out and re record because my MP3 changer reads CDRWs. There is nothing like having access to over 600 hundred songs.
