Hey guys,

I have a spare H series flywheel I am planning on using on my swap. I was wondering how to tell if it needs to be resurfaced? It is obviously not mounted on the engine yet.

The clutch contact surface is very smooth and has a mottled apperance.

Also, I checked on pricing and I have a shop that wants $49.95 to resurface the wheel, it that too much?

Thanks

It's a good idea to surface it since your probably putting in a newer clutch. And yes $50 is high. We charge $15 for a flat one and $30 for a stepped flywheel. Check with parts stores or machine shops.

just wondering, how come when we replace our clutches we can resurface but some other cars require a flywheel replacement?
