I was reading online about a h22 build up where they installed a set of Type-S pistons. In the article, they mention that the h22 does not need the normal cross hatch on the cylinder walls. Instead, there is a special tool you need to get the cylinders almost perfectly smooth.

I'm not sure, I know that there was a thread that had a link too that showed the correct method for the H series. It was brought up as a direction sheet to give to your machinist.
