I just spent like $500 Cdn today on 2 jackstands, a hydraulic jack, a decent toolset, several wrenches, a pair of torque wrenches (one from 2-21lb*ft, which wasn't in stock today, and another 20-250lb*ft), and one of those rollers you lie down on to slide under the car

I've also got to find a good pair of coveralls...

Wow, I could probably have bought a DC header for that money

Coveralls..? Something like $50 Cdn at Mark's Work Wearhouse.

Tools..? Tons of cash - all sorts of wrenches from Home Depot, lift and stands from Crappy Tire. Bought over a span of 4 years, so it's hard to figure how much. But I have both metric and SAE, in both 3/8" and 1/2" drive (the 1/2" drive are impact sockets for when I get an air-powered impact wrench).

i spent tons of money on my tools that i have collected over the years. (well between my dad and my bro also) Most of them are SEARS Craftsman and they're pricey. I have SAE and metric sizes. All kinds of screwdrivers, wrenches, breaker bar, torque wrench, impact wrench, pliers, hex keys, torx bits, etc... And i have jackstands, floor jack, car ramps. Basically all i need now is a car lift in my garage!

Well, between tools, jacks, jack stands, torque wrenches, tool boxes, etc. I have spent well over $1500. Probably closer to $2k.

It's a cost that's worth it.
