If so, how could you go about getting your money back. I recently ordered some seats, and havnt heard from the guy in a good while. He always put his phone# in the emails but I havnt heard from him in around 10 days, old mail only stays in your aol box for 7 (stupid aol). So what does paypal do to get your money back? They were ordered through a company called Inline-4-Performance in Ft. Lauderadle, FL. I am probably just getting worried to soon but I want my damn seats!

So am I SOL? Or does paypal really help if I did in fact get ripped off. I appologize for the long post. Thanks!

I have had no problems with paypal, but I haven't been in your situation.
BTW, in AOL just click "keep as new" and your mail won't get deleted for atleast a few months.
wonder if that is the same as

www.inlinefour.com
yes i have been ripped off before...

well actually i ripped someone off...well sort of, heres the story..

i sent something to someone, and they didn't receive it. so they issued a claim against me, i said i did, blah blah....

HE GOT PAYPAL INVOLVED THROUGH THEIR FRAUD SERVICES (located on their webpage) told them the story. Paypal then contacted me. I provided an insurance slip, and they further investigate. If the seller has no proof of mailing, then you will win this fight. If paypal says that the seller was at fault and didn't send the package, then they will ask the seller to verify via email to send the $ back for the item. Until the seller says "ok, give him back his money" his account will be on hold and he cannot make any transactions or recieve any money.

Hmm. Their site says they are located in southern cali, so that is probably a differant place w/ similier name.

I'm going to give him a few more days, if no reply then I will try and contact paypal I guess.

I don't think they're the same. I've ordered a few things from inlinefour and they have always been prompt and courteous. They are also rather quick (for an import parts shop) to respond to emails.

as long as you are dealing with a buyer or seller in the US and you are in the US (so it is a US-to-US transaction) then there are some type of protection from paypal.

call paypal or go to their site for more info.
also, the stuff you bought from inline4...could you have used a visa/mastercard?

my recommendation to all is to use a major credit card to purchase when possible. that way there is no place for the seller to he can be tracked and visa will always try to help you (the buyer). you may think paypal offers the same type of courtesy in a case where there are problems but NO THEY DON'T! they don't have as much of a pull as a major credit card company does.

i hope that all made sense.

hope you get your toys!
never buy something through paypal that is claimed to be through a shop.

if it is through a shop, they'll gladly take a credit card or another way of collecting.

not saying you got ripped off yet, but you have to be cautious especially sending payments to private email accounts.

I have shipped things COD before. If the person does not have the money order ready when the package arrives, he/she does not get it.

Thanks for the replies so far.
Yep- I've been ripped off $136 from a POS "fake shop" guy offering autometer gauges through the GB center this past summer. He even emailed me and told me that he was going to pay me back, but never did. I got emails to prove it too, but I don't know what to do about it. I should probably call Paypal up.
Chris, I think you can stop payment if you let paypal know, just tell the inline four guy you need more info, or else your gonna stop payment.

Yeah I emailed him earlier today and explained everything. I told him that I'm not going to jump to any conclusions so soon, but I havnt heard anything from him ni 10 days. Before I made the payment I would get a replay the same day that I emailed him. I told him that I would notify paypal if I havnt heard anything from him by Tuesday of next week.
sounds shady, people who are unresponsive don't deserve you business. You should stop the payment as soon as you can

Look in your filing cabinet. The e-mails should still be there.

i've used paypal a lot and no problems, but it could juss be the seller too sometimes...juss make sure who you're buying from has no negative comments.
I guess that I should hav picked a better title. Just in case anyone understood it wrong, I was asking if anyone has been ripped off, who made the payment w/paypal.

I still havnt heard anything from him,.
Maybe they just didn't get your order, seeing as how it was sent to Ft. Lauderadle!

The only emails in there were ones "waiting to be sent out".
