H22a VTEC 5th gen vs. H23 NON-VTEC 4th gen??

I raced a non-vtec 4th gen last nite and I know he would jump of the line b/c of torque, but then I could not pass him by the 1/4mile. He has i/h/e& cam gears! Thought I would pull up top, I have a 2001 5spd, with just Greddy Evo as of now! Was closer with a 4th gen that runs 14.8?? ALL launches were good also, no missed gears either?? What your thoughts?? Or stories?

if it was a street race then it doesn't prove anything.

5th gens are heavier by about 200 pounds and he has mods so yea his car would beat yours
your exhaust won't do much for you without intake or headers. Its just for sound right now. I used to have I/H/E and my header went bad and i'm on teh stock one, i notice a pretty big difference. The Greddy PE has more performance with a header from what i've observed. The exhaust flow is leaving the header then hitting the cat and exhaust, its still restricted from the minute it entered teh header. This is my guess to why I can feel the the decrease in power. You should try for an intake then header next if you want to notice a performance difference.
