Wah hoo fellow racers! To all my Cincy autoxers and fellow racers on here, wish me luck as I am gonna do my first road race this Sunday at Putnam Park! A little bit more $$ to run, but man its gonna be worth it. I will have video taken, although I dont know if it will be digital, and pics to post. It will be a non-competitive event and my Mustang and VW buddies talked me into it from school. This is gonna be the perfect sr spring break of my college career!!!

Good luck!

DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT brake if you are close to the edge of traction in a corner. The faster you go, the easier it is to swap ends!!!
Other than that, have fun! It's a blast. Once my car is running again (whenever that is!), that's what I plan doing with most of my weekends!

Yeah, the pics will be coming.

The course will be pretty open, only one wall to worry about if I remember right, and its in Indiana, so not much elevation changes. Just right to learn my new suspension even more and burn off the RE72s.

You should come up to the Speed Trial USA event at GingerMan Raceway in South Haven MI. Its a long way from Cinci, but it is another fun coarse. Besides, I almost always have the only Prelude and it would be nice to have someone else there to pick on Type R's!

If you are interested, check out their site: www.speedtrialusa.com. Oh yeah, take an extra set of brake pads, front and rear just in case.

hehe I have done that before hit the brake while under hard corning and the back end shot out a little..I was experimenting though seeing what it would do and how I would react...I pulled out of it fine and I know whats going on now.
Good luck its tough taking the right lines in my opinion. I used to race a 3.7 mile track at Virginia International Raceway. It had hills and turns and apexs on top of hills. Very difficult track but also very fun.

http://www.virclub.com if anyone is interested or near that location.
Good luck. Show those stangs how the road races are supposed to go.

Funny you say that - when I was at VIR the only cars that would fly off the road were domestics. Besides the brand new Viper GTS and C5 Corvette that flew off the road and totaled their cars (also went home on a flatbed), there were mustangs flying off the road left and right. The M3's (old and new) seem to kick everyones arse though.

Well, hopefully the rain will hold off and you'll get to go. Good luck. Also, remember in road racing it's all about hitting the apex of the curve just right.
