How do you choose which car you want to modify next? do you draw straws?
You realize all the stuff that's needed for the Euro R manifold?<font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2">Originally posted by genyosai:
I'm in the process of getting components in for my 97 Prelude. I have Type S valvetrain on the way as well as all the pieces needed to install the intake manifold from a Euro R Accord (Type r Accord).
I'll let everyone know how things work out... then I'll tell you where I got the intake kit from (unless you already know).

Excellent!! Here is what I have:<font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2">Originally posted by 71dsp:

What parts for the Euro R manifold did you have sent over?
Don't worry about secrets. I already have all the parts for the manifold, even some of the ones that you might not know that you need!
Do a search on Euro R manifold, and you will see all of my research on the subject.
My Euro R manifold is being ported and modified as we speak.

No, I don't draw straws. The 540i I bought already supercharged... it needs nothing else... I promise you. My GTI and Prelude I work on at the same time, pretty much. My CIVIC already has a b18c1, but it's for sale... so no more modding on that. My GSR is pretty maxed out, and it's sold as of last Saturday.. being picked up this Sunday.<font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2">Originally posted by vabeach_lude:
Interestingly enough, you still have 5 cars. So do you draw straws?

So I'll be down to four cars, then three once the CIVIC is sold. My wife drives the 540i mostly... I drive the Prelude and GTI (GTI only when I have to travel for work... its smoother).

Gee that e-mail sounds familiar, I wrote an e-mail that 99% of this message is taken from (cut and pasted, with some interesting modifications). Where did you get it (does the place have initials IP)? Nothing against you, but I get a little ticked when people cut and paste my stuff without credit.<font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2">Originally posted by genyosai:
Excellent!! Here is what I have:
From my Prelude:
throttle body
throttle body studs
throttle body nuts and bolts
fuel rail nuts
injector o-rings
manifold stud nuts
intake manifold gasket
from the Euro:
manifold
fuel rail
all misc. wiring brackets
throttle cable bracket
IAC (99-01 Accords use the same IAC)
IAT (99-01 Accords use the same IAT)
fuel rail studs (99-01 Accords use the same)
The IAC is a 3 wire IAC vs. a 2 wire IAC on the 5Gen. The only car that I am sure of that uses this connector is the 99-01 Accord. Also, the fuel pressure regulator is different. There is also a vacuum line on the IAC that the my Prelude doesn't have. I don't know what it is for. Will probably just end up plugging it. The IAC connector is ONLY available on the engine harness. Have to do some wiring. Also have to port match my Prelude's throttle body to the opening on the manifold... the Euro is a little larger.
So what info do you have that I don't so that I can get this thing right.

My GTI has been withought a problem except for the Window Regulator service bulletin. I never had the "dropped-window" problem because mine was fixed before hand. Other than that, I'm a very happy owner. I was thinking of a Z-Engineering supercharger at one time, but I don't drive it enough to make many mods to.<font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2">Originally posted by THATPRELUDEGUY:

Shocking! I've only had fit and finish problems with my car...which BTW I find to be enough to sell the F-ing thing at least three times a week. As for the VW that's shocking to me as well. I used to have a GTi 8V and it blew! 13 trips to the dealer in the first 6 months and it had the trans replaced twice within the first 10K...after that I swore them off forever.<font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2">Originally posted by genyosai:
Rack and Pinion unit replaced @ 35k miles.
Tail-light wiring harnesses relpaced (kept blowing fuses).
ABS unit replaced.
BallJoints replaced (after they were replaced for the recall).
Replaced clutch/ignition switch.
Replaced Piston rings for excessive oil consumption.
Replaced Engine due to bad oil pump (lost VTEC @ about 7krpm.

What year was that GTi 8v?? Ferdinand Peiche(sp) (not porsche), has really made a come back of VW IMO. As for the Prelude, you sound like me. Mine has been for sale SO many times. I've had offers (money in hand) for the car, only to let my feelings get in the way... resulting in a NO SALE (talking the buyer out of the deal<font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2">Originally posted by THATPRELUDEGUY:

Yep! You hit it on the head! I just forwarded what was sent to me. I sold them the throttle body off of my first Prelude motor (1997 motor). So you're "the guy" as the email to me states, that we're waiting on before I can get anything (that's what my "in process of getting" means in the first message of this thread).<font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2">Originally posted by 71dsp:

Do you have these parts yet?
You realize that you will have to source an entire engine harness just to get that connector? I wouldn't do it any other way, it's ghetto unless you use the connector.
Also, some machining needs to be done to the injector ports.
One other thing, whoever you got this from, forgot to mention that we are not even sure that the car will idle with this different IAC, there could be erratic idle issues, it could idle too high, too low, etc.
How much are you paying for this stuff?

My Golf was actually a '95 Golf Sport (yeah right) that was a Limited Edition in '94 then a sport in '95 and all of a sudden with new wheels it became a "GTi" from '96 up.<font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2">Originally posted by genyosai:

It's getting a total make-over, now. I'm in process of pulling the engine and all engine-bay components, interior, etc. for a change from Nordic Mist Metallic to Phoenix Yellow. I wanted Sparkle Yellow Metallic, but the UK paint code for that color has no mixing reference here. While the engine is out, the head and euro R intake manifold goes to Extrudehone. Once those are back, it goes back together with Type S pistons, camshafts, valves and springs. The suspension is done, new road wheels are on the way (look like Mugen mf8's, but gunmetal gray). Also need to order the Mugen front bumper, skirts, and rear spoiler before the paint job as well as the jdm fogs. I have the carbon hood for it. After the motor is back in... Drag genIII turbo and new exhaust. Then I'm done with this one![]()

According to the dyno run here in town, 417 at the rear wheel. It has an ERT supercharger on it that uses a Vortech blower like Dinan's kit. The difference?? Dinan costs twice as much as ERT's kit.<font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2">Originally posted by vabeach_lude:

I just hope that this Euro R manifold thing works out. If it turns out to be too much trouble, I'll just get a Venom manifold and fuel rail.<font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2">Originally posted by THATPRELUDEGUY:

Went to your site? Is that red Prelude yours? Nice. but I have to ask... did you intend to put your rims on that way? In the pic you have a right directional wheel and a left directional wheel on each side (looking at the left side of your car).<font face="Verdana, Arial" size="2">Originally posted by vabeach_lude:
