Engine laggg...

I feel TONS OF LAGG in the engine or transmission(?) anywhere above 1.5k rpm. Here's my situation, my car was driving normal, I VTECed 2nd gear, droped to neutral and coasted to a stop. Then accelerated in first gear, felt pretty normal until 2.5k rpm. It feels like you're going 5mph in 5th gear, even at WOT!! The car just won't pull. So then I stopped, killed the engine and restarted, it drove fine and pulled just as hard as it used to.

Just yesterday, I was driving fine all day until I came to a stop light near my house and I feel the lag again. I floor the accelerator and it doesn't go anywhere. Crappy throttle response also. This still persisted throughout the whole day today, until tonite. It drove fine again.

Anyone have any suggestions? The spark plugs was replaced just under 2k miles ago. I'm not sure about the wires. I'm thinking it may be the wires, but it's weird how it lag SOMETIMES, not all the time. Any comments/suggestions? Thanks.

What year Prelude and how many miles are on it?

Have you ever had a fuel filter replaced on it if it has over 30K?

It's a 94 VTEC with 110k. Yes the filter was replaced under 1000 mile ago. If it is the fuel, would the problem be on and off like this? The car doesn't lag all the time. And it idle perfectly fine and revs fine in neutral. It's just under load sometimes when it lags. Also, I've only experience this lag AFTER I got my clutch installed, that's why I think it may be clutch related. Anything else I can check?
