I just read the brochure for the new RSX...
It comes with 5 speed SS transmission...
that sux, a lowered priced car with much
better transmission... I bet the 160 HP base
will give us run for our $$$.

If our SS had a 5sp SS then it would be a tad quicker, still the Lude SS should be able to spank the RSX SS. It is like comparing a civic Si auto vs a Prelude auto, hmm, think the Lude will come out on top. In the event we lose, out cars still looks better

If you're gonna put the RSX 5spd into a Prelude (assuming it's possible and drive ratios won't be screwed up), you might as well stick in a Prelude manual 5spd?

Actually I'm pretty sure that the stock SI and the SS are about dead even. The SI is rated 160 (?), but it's lighter and a stick. Sum it all up and you end up with slightly under 8 seconds for both cars (0-60). Trust me, the SI is very beatable.

If the RSX SS is like the TL & CL, it won't let you access first gear. It only works from 2nd to 5th. Yeah, it was nice to be doing 50 mph at something like 1300 rpm in the TL I tested, but it's not really a performance feature.

I'd be interested to see if they've gotten rid of the annoying 1 second shift delay. That, and I wonder if the gearing is any closer to a true 5spd and if they are tuning the engine more for torque (like the 5g SS).

First, if you put a RSX tranny into a Prelude I hope you can drive well backwards! The new Honda mills all turn clock-wise and our older mills turn counter clock-wise. So all the forward gears in that tranny will be spinning backwards. But hey that would be some bragging rights.

Also, I know that Si's are NOT faster than the base model! My girl has one with just a CAI and she never beats me. Well maybe when I throw a Vortech on it.
