Just recently my check engine light has turned on.

Here's the thing, doesnt turn on until a few minutes after driving, I was speaking to a local mech. and he said that it could be possibly due to the weather.

This car has never seen winter before and this year it did. So supposably if the light isnt turning on right away when the car is started it could just be a system diagnostic error.

He called it a sof code?

Any ways id just like to know if this makes sense to anyone. Because I sure in hell do not understand whats going on. If so could you please explain.

Pull the code and it will tell you what's wrong.

Some things will trigger the CEL after a short drive, like the EGR valve not working correctly
