my battery light came on i just got new battery i noticed my ground side of the battery was really hot and my battery light is still on and my alternater is fine the car was well taken care of 1 owner 60 original miles kept in heated garage anyone have any ideas

Sounds like your voltage regulator is shot. Replace it.
I assume you're sure the battery is connected correct.

thanks ill replace the voltage reg. the ground cable that connects to battery its looks original you think honda would have used a thicker ground cable

Ground is adequate. Voltage regulator is most likely shot and now overloading. Hence the hot cable and battery warninglight. Really nice Prelude you have there. Take care of it, and it will serve you well.
