Anyone install this yet? I got mine back from Performance Coatings and tried assembling it last night, but had a hell of a time getting the tri-Y pipes to fit together (PC masked off the parts so the coating isn't a factor). I sanded, polished, and WD-40'd the thing, but still couldn't get the pieces to fit together. I used a rubber mallet on it for about 40 minutes and got 1 of the Y pipes to slide in most of the way, but couldn't even get the other started (pipes not 100% circular). I'd like to here from anyone that's assembled this header, please help me out! Thanks.

the piping will need a bit of muscle to to put together,
these are a tight fit so there will be a guarantee of no leakage. .
try to lube up the openings before putting them together.

I might be interested in one of these for my F20B swapped 1997 Accord 4 Door.

I have some questions though.

So basically all these headers are the same ones as being sold on ebay right now correct? With names like "KiddRACING H22 Tri-y SSR/Hytech Style Header! *10+Whp*"

So these are copy headers? How close of a copy are they to the real thing? I noticed that the same headers are being sold under different copy names like SSR/Hytech/Tri-Y/RMF. So which one is it a copy of?

Also, which one will fit a 1997 Accord with no modifications to the car?

And lastly, all these headers eliminate the CAT correct? And DC sports headers do not eliminate the CAT. So if you go to a Dyno and test a DC header WITH CAT, and then swap it out for one of these with no CAT then obviously you will pick up more power.

I would like to see a test where you take a stock or near stock car with OEM header and OEM CAT, then swap it out for DC sports header with test pipe, then swap it out for your header. And do a comparison that way.

Please let me know...

Errr, that's one way of looking at it... You're not gaining 10 hp because you lose a cat. You might gain 1 or 2hp maybe, but the reason that the DC Sports one sucks is because the primaries, secondaries, and collector are the same diameter as the stock header. And yeah you get to keep your OEM cat because it's supposed to be a bolt on.

But for those that are interested in a little more HP and have access to a welder or a person that can weld, then these headers are what is going to get the job done. The primaries are larger and all of the bends are a better shape. The collector is also 2.5" as opposed to DC Sports 1.9". And finally, DC Sports doesn't produce the H22 header in Stainless Steel anymore. And this one is stainless steel for better looks and arguably better durability. With only $150 more to pay for the knockoff versus a DC Sports, you can see why people are starting to look at this as a better alternative these days. Plus, you can buy aftermarket cats that still will probably pass a smog test (not inspection though) and bungs are always available to weld in for both O2 sensors, and you won't even have to worry about throwing a code!

And I'm no expert, but this is a Hytech ripoff. Ebay sellers often put any word association into their description because people shopping for performance products don't always know all the words or brands associated with the product they're looking for.

thanks for the reply ,
but if you wanted to run a stock cat on this header, you are able to .

you would just need to make a lil testpipe connecting to your stock cat,
but the thing is that it would be restrictive.

So if this is the "Hytech Style" does anyone know how well this fits on a 94-97 Accord with H22?

I have a 97 Accord with F20b (same head as H22) and I am thinking about getting this header.

1. Does the crossmember need to be knotched on 94-97 Accord?

2. How close do the secondaries come to the ground (how far do they hang under the oil pan)

3. Where does the collector sit when the header is installed? (how far past the back of the motor does it stick out?

4. What kind of collector needs to be installed on the exhaust pipe (or test pipe) to accept the flange on the header?

5. Lastly, are there any manufacturing/quality control problems with fitment, quality of construction, welds etc.

the cross member does not need to be knotched if i'm correct for the 94-97 accord for the tri y ,
but the 4-1 will be needed.

they don't hang more than 1/2 an inch lower than the oil pan

the collector is a 2.5 donut gasket.
but i give a free extension piece with every order to mate it to a custom test pipe .

i guarantee no problems with the welds or quality problems
