Yes- I got a new batch in with short/long ones. No need to worry- the long one will work in all applications, I got the short ones as too many people were asking me for them and skeptical that the long ones would work in the tranny since so many mfrs offer short ones for the tranny.
Bought these and think they are great quality. Got the oil in on the last change, have yet to see what it looks like when pulled out. Just wondering about the tranny. I just filled up with GM Syncromesh before I got these which is really pricy in Canada. Any idea's if or how it is possible to swap it in without loosing all my new fluid? Sick of using my new drain bolt as a fridge magnet.....
kellyk, the way I usually do it is to swap the OE plug back in quickly, or plug it with a finger (assuming you don't intend to do more than look at it, maybe wipe it off some, and put it back in). The latter gets messy, though. No matter what you will need to fill the tranny back up to the fill point.
You can also drain into something ultra-clean and put it back in (like a brand-new drain pan). I do this for any fluid I need to drain but can't stomach buying more/new fluid (like Mobil 1).
Thanks. Prob sounded like a stupid question. What I should have asked was how messy does that get. Didn't want to drain and re-fil, don't have a hoist so it might get sloppy plugging the hole with me under the car...... and flipping the car upside down isn't an option.

It gets pretty messy. If you are quick it's not too bad, but I would still plan on splatters on your clothes and a 6' x 6' area under the drain plug.
Even if you could flip the car upside down, the oil would drain out of the valve cover opening into the IM and intake, causing a possible hyro (or oil?) lock when you flipped it back over and started it.
