Brembo Brake Rotors & Ultimate, Metal Master, Deluxe Brake Pads

Brembo Brake Rotors

Brembo OE "blank" rotors offer better performance than Cross-drilled rotors. Cross-drilled rotors might look "cool", but what are they really doing for performance? Brake rotors were first "drilled" in the 40's and 50's because early brake pad materials gave off gasses when heated to racing temperatures, which is called "gassing out". These gasses then formed a thin layer between the brake pad face and the rotor, effectively lowering the coefficient of friction. The "cross drilled" holes were implemented to give the gasses a place to escape. Today’s brake pad materials do not exhibit the same gassing out problems as these early (old) pads. Also, there are many companies that sell "cheap" cross-drilled and slotted rotors. They do this by purchasing Brembo blanks and having them cheaply altered by a third party. Doing this sacrifices the rotors structural integrity, and can be a huge safety risk. If you contact Brembo, they will not recognize these discs after they have been altered. These rotors are known to crack and warp very quickly. If you want the actual Brembo cross drilled and slotted rotors you will be paying much more. That's why these blanks are perfect; they perform better, do not tear through pads, are priced much lower, and are much safer.

Front Rear (Prices are per rotor.)
88-90 : Prelude (S) : $24 $23
88-90 : Prelude (SE/SI): $29 $23

* = Brembo doesn't make a rear rotor for this application.

PBR (Axxis) Ultimate Brake Pads (Highest Performance)

The PBR (Axxis) Ultimate brake pads feature a special Kevlar® and ceramic-strengthened formula with a high co-efficient of friction and excellent high temperature wear and fade resistance. Designed for ultra-high performance driving and hard-braking applications, PBR (Axxis) Ultimate pad users will benefit with extreme stopping power and high resistance to brake fade at high temperatures, meaning the decrease in friction over repeated heavy duty stops, as the temperature increases, is minimal. PBR (Axxis) Ultimate pads boast a maximum continuous working temperature of 550° C (1022° F degrees). Consistent throughout its operating temperature range, you’ll get dependable, predictable stops time after time while maintaining a solid pedal feel.

Price is per set (both wheels), so only one set is necessary.

So if I were to order two front rotors... and a pair of front pads... it would be 2x$37 + $62 = $138+shipping? Is this correct? And how much is shipping to 85040?

Also... I know you guys are having issues with Goodrich... but can I get a set of SS lines for a Type SH? How much?

Yep that is correct. Except it's $136 + 19.50 shipping = $155.50 shipped. The Goodridge lines are not in stock, but we'd have them dropshipped from Goodridge. It would probably take at least 4-8 weeks to get them though. $110 shipped for those.

We have JG Eldebrock stainless steel brake lines in stock for your SH for only $99 shipped.

Thanks!

I actually spent a couple hours researching it but haven't found anyone who can do it yet. I'm skeptical at how effective it really can be, because most of the coatings I've researched have a melting point that will be exceeded by the brakes operating temperature when braking hard. I've heard people say the anti-rust coatings on rotors wear off shortly and that would make sense. I'll keep researching it, but I don't really feel (yet) like I'm convinced it's worth the cost.

It would seem to me that the biggest benefit to having a anti-rust coating would be to prevent rusting on the parts of the rotor that are not cleaned/contacted by the pad. If the coating wore off on the pad contact area then the pads would remove the rust there as well, keeping the entire rotor looking shiney... maybe?

We can get Power Slot slotted rotors. These are good rotors, not the lousy rotors that are machined after the rotor is cast by a third party. These were slotted when the rotor was cast at the factory! Cost on them is $88 per front rotor and $86 per rear rotor. Rotors are instock and ready to go! You also have a PM! Really looking forward to doing business with you!

Thanks,
Mike

Umm I think you missed something, cuz I did the math and came up with a higher price than that, it looks to me like you missed the front pads, and well, woudl the Ultimate pads be better and last longer too than the Metal Master, Would I notice a difference and will they wear less on the rotors too? Just wondering.
Thanks
Jeff
What if I put Ultimate pads on my fronts and Metal Master pads in my rears?

Jeff, sorry I didn't notice that you wanted the front pads too, my bad! So yeah, just add $48 for the front pads set. As far as Metal Master vs. Ultimates, the Metal Masters actually last longer, however the Ultimates are just simply a better pad. It would work fine to mix and match on the pads for front and rear. Let me know what you want to do and we can get your brake parts coming to you! Really looking forward to doing business with you!!

Thanks,
Mike

Also brembo blanks F and R and same pads to same zip??
Alright, the Brembo blanks will be $37 per front rotor, $40 per rear rotor.

The pads are $48 for the front set and $27 for the rear set.

The powerslot rotors are $88 per front rotor and $86 per rear rotor.

Shipping to 28262 for either combo will be $36. So if you went with the blanks cost would be $265, and if you went with the powerslots, cost would be $459 for everything. Really looking forward to doing business with you!!

Thanks,
Mike

Hey Mak, Brembo does indeed not make a rear rotor. The rear rotor will be a Bradi or BPI rotor. Both comparable to Brembo and made to the tolerances of Brembo! Have used them personally on my prelude and they've been great!

I'm assuming you have a 5th gen prelude, right?? If this is the case, the front rotors are $37 each and rear rotors are $40 each. The Pads are $62 for the fronts and $34 for the rears. Therefor the parts total will be $250. Shipping for all tha weight to 32810 from here will be $35, bringing the total to $285 shipped. All parts are instock and ready to go!! Really looking forward to doing business with you!!

Thanks,
Mike

What if I put Ultimate pads on my fronts and Metal Master pads in my rears?
Still looking to order? Everything is instock and ready to go, just as soon as you are! Really looking forward to doing business with you!!

Nimz: I also responded to your PM, but here is what I said:

Hey, shipping for the front rotors and pads would be $25. Your car is a 5th gen, right?? The rotors are $37 each and the Metal Masters are $48. Therefor the total will be $147 to your door. If you ordered tonight or early tommorow we should be able to get them to you by the 14th. Just send a paypal to paypal@importrp.com, be sure and include in the notes section what you are ordering. Send it over and we'll ship first thing in the AM! Really looking forward to doing business with you!

Thanks,
Mike

I'll be sending payment thru payapl for Brembo Slotted Front Rotors, Brembo Blank Rear Rotors, and a full set of Ultimate pads in the amount of $392.00 this friday (payday) for a 98 Prelude.

So will you be able to ship it out the same day with this heads up?

Hey Jeff,
We have everything in stock except the Brembo slotted rotors. We DO have the Brembo Cross-drilled fronts in-stock though. I'd have to order the slotted in from Brembo. Everything else, could be shipped out same day as you order.

Thanks!
Mike
