What do u think?

So Im going to start buying some stuff... I've seen that one of te things that can give more HP is either the intake manifold or the throttle body... Which one thing give u some horses fast?
Also have a ? re pistons and stuff... I have seen some setups like a throttle body 68mm vs 70 and the 68 gets more hps... And some compression ratios like 11.5:1 vs 13 or 14 and the 11.5 getting more hps... I had the idea that more is better... More gas, plus more air is better hps? I thought compressions the higher the better? Can some one explain this in simple terms?

I really need some input on this one... The more I research the more confused that I get... Should I buy the internals first, or shoukd I buy some intake, headers, mufflers, that's type of stuff, also need a manual tranny cuz I have the triptronic type...
