VTEC stumble

I have a completely stock 97 5-speed with 127k on the clock. Just recently she started giving me some lip. The car seems to run pretty well until VTEC engagement...at that exact time it'll stumble and then do a piss poor job pulling to redline. I've checked the plugs....a little white-ish tips but no signs of detonation or fouling. Pretty new plug wires, dizzy cap, and rotor. Also new PCV valve. Okay I take back the completely stock bit....I did the manual tensioner conversion. Anyhow...any help would be greatly appreciated as this one has me stumped. Oh yeah...no codes thrown yet either and I reset the ecu once just to try it. Thanks in advance.

Ben

A bump to this thread and update.

Oil is fine. Finally threw a code. Fuel bank 1 too rich. I'm looking at a possible Fuel Pressure Regulator or an O2 sensor....but nothing else has thrown a CEL. I checked secondaries and they are fine. Its definitely running too rich...I just can't figure out why.
