Valves......Flat? Oversized?

Ok so still doing my I want this/that and the other thing....I lookd around a lil bit and didnt find the answer......

If I am doing a build, would I yeild better gains from a stock sized valve? Oversized .5/1mm? Also what is the bennifit of doing a O/S valve?

I am trying to net around 11-11.5:1 CR for a full NA build and just want to start getting ideas rolled in my mind.

To do nothing with my hopfully future build......
this has been running through my head for the longest time.......what if anything would happen if you ran stock sized valves in the exhaust and .5mm oversized non-vtec and 1mm oversized vtec.....would this do anything or nothing? I have been curious to this for the longest time.....

With a mild build, there's nothing wrong with stock sized valves. I'm making 204 WHP on stock valves, pistons, cams, and rods.

I don't have time to get into all of it here, but if you go with oversized valves, the pistons *might* need to be modified so the valves don't contact the valve pockets in the pistons.

By the way, there is no such thing as non-VTEC and VTEC valves. There are 4 valves per cylinder, 2 intake and 2 exhaust.

I thought that one valve was opened for a longer duration during Vtec......so one of the two valves opened for longer, while the exhaust stayed the same.....

Billy Ima gonna pm ya in a sec, I have alot of questions Id like to fire off at ya.

VTEC doesn't work that way. VTEC has to do with the cam lobes and rocker arms. It has NOTHING to do with the valves. In VTEC the two rocker arms are locked together and follow the VTEC lobe, so both valves open and close at the same time under VTEC. On an H22, there are VTEC cams and rockers on both the intake and exhaust.

Unless you're doing a major build, I don't see any benefits to aftermarket valves, and surely no benefit in larger than stock valves. Sometimes valves other than stock can be a headache. Ask Todd about his Skunk2 valves in his D16.

skunk2 valves...todd? I dont know about that

Im looking to do a JUN internals if the GB in the for sale section goes through....TWM ITB's, SMSP Header, undecided exhaust.....Im curious as to what valve I should use, size of valves

And my build will be a major overhaul. Pretty much everything except the crank and block/head will be replaced, Im looking at replacing everything internal....
