Valve train question...

I remember not long ago reading an ad for a company that had released upgraded rocker arms for Vtec engines. I can't remember who the company was, anyone have an idea? They were basically aluminum roller rocker type pieces, it may have been Crane or someone of that nature. Any info would be great. Thanks

It was Ferrea, although Crane markets them from what I have seen. I have yet to personally see anyone that runs them, but I did read that Anglea Proudfoot runs them.

Please let me know if you find any other information. I'm interested in finding out more about this product.

One note is that the roller rockers by Ferrea/Crane eliminate VTEC (or rather, the engine is always on the big cam lobe), so idle and low RPM power suffers, but top end is supposed to be very good, not to mention the lack of friction from the roller assembly.

You can find the products on Cranes web site: www.cranecams.com

Yeah, I read about those ones, but the ones I am refering to were for "Street" applications. This allowed the use of both cam profiles. Crane/ferrea makes them for the B series engine for the street, but I haven't seen anything about them for the H engines. That may have been the ones I was thinking of. I seen them in grassroots motorsports awhile back. If they are going to keep Vtec "on" all the time, then that certainly isn't what I am looking for. I was considering trying to develop some of these myself in CAD, and having a buddy of mine CNC a set. I need to look into some proper bearings for them though. I sort of wanted to find a set already made for the H engine and try to mimic the design, but also improve on them at the same time. I need to do a little more research on them. Let me know if you find out anything more on them.
