I have a spare H22A head w/skunk2 valve springs and titanium retainers. Is it possible to use the crower steel retainers with the skunk2 valvesprings?
Thanks,
-Greg P

No, IIRC, all of the Ferrea models require new retainers and spring seats. Portflow springs fit just fine on the stock retainers and spring seats.

I'd personally go with Portflow on a street engine, and Ferrea on a race engine, or a street engine that you'll check the retainers for wear on a regular basis. The Portflows are more of an install and forget type of item.

Regardless of which brand you use, I'd certainly do a manual check of the spring travel to ensure that the spring won't bind at max lift. The specs might show one thing, but I'd certainly verify the numbers prior to installation.
