Stock Clutch or Exedy Sport Organic for All-motor build?

Hey guys,
I have an all-motor build going to becoming together soon and I still haven't bought my clutch yet. It comes down to an Exedy stock clutch or the Exedy Organic Racing clutch.

I think the Exedy OEM clutch should be able to handle a daily driven Prelude with racing on occassion for a 200+ whp all-motor Prelude, but what do you think? Again, my Prelude will see very little drag racing, and I think the stock clutch should be able to handle the torque. I mean some guys with JRSC Preludes have ran the stock clutch for a while, and thats quite a different ball-game. But do you think the stock clutch can handle 8500 rpm? Do you think the Exedy Organic Racing clutch would be better for this? If so, why.

Again my Lude will mostly see racing in the form of road racing, little drag racing.

Thanks,
Mike

I've been using an OEM clutch with my set up.. no problems, no slipping. I'm not too rough on clutches but I do shift HARD from time to time.

What mods do you have currently? Also, everyone please don't recommend any other clutch, its really between these two. Even though I get parts at cost, I am cheap!! Exedy is the cheapest for me Plus, I just think Exedy kicks ass

I'm running a pretty much stock Type S motor with Crower stage 2a's and valvesprings. I havn't dyno'd this motor but my origional set up (I/H/E Type S cams) put down 185whp.

Right on, nice setup. That is very much like mine. How does the clutch feel at high RPM shifts? Does it seem to do the job well with your kinda power?

It shifts pretty firm, even at higher RPM's. You can ask soccer3303, he's ridden with me a few times. Unless your planning on using nitrous or doing alot of road racing, stock should be fine in my opinion.

I wold get the Racing clutch especially if your going to be shifting at 8500. Here's my reasoning... regardless of horsepower increase over stock, at that RPM when you shift, you have a greater change (delta) RPM from gear to gear than if you were shifting at say 7400 RPM. This means your clutch will be sliping longer. Clutch life is directly related to how long you slip the clutch (I can write out the formula if you'd like). So in order to cut down the slip time or shift time and to not overheat the clutch you need to increase the clapming pressure. And that's what the racing clutch does for you. Do you get what I'm trying to say.
