stage 2 cams with stock valves?

ok so ive been on a few forums and cant get a straight answer, is it ok to just upgrade springs and retainers or do i need to upgrade valves to?

Yes, you should definitely get the correct springs for a "Stage 2" cam. You need to say which cam you are talking about.

no, i know, sorry i should have been more clear...i have the springs and retainers...but dont i need to upgrade the valves as well...they're brian crower cams and crower valve and retainer kit

The stock valves will work just fine.
