My friend has the Skunk2 stage 2's in his 1997 Prelude. He said that they were very easy to install and noticed an awesome power gain. To me VTEC was obviosly pulling 1.5 times harder and was a tad but louder. I would say they are definetly worth the money. it really helps bring the H22 to life with some cam gears.

Yup skunk2 requires you upgrade the valve train...springs, retainers...you can go through them or get ferreas(spelling) as I hear a couple of people have them and like them...I too want to get these cams just trying to scrape together as much knowledge and money as I can.
On another note...some people say you need to get a gasket that raises or lowers cr...forgot which one...is this true. and some people reccomend not to get the head p&p...is this true also?

I wasn't talking about valvetrain upgrade, I was talking about valvetrain modification.
If the retainer hits the valve guide at .500" even with upgraded springs and retainer there's a good chance it'll still do it if you don't modify your valvetrain somehow. What I'm wondering is what can you do to modify it? Trim a little off the valve guide?

Never heard of that one before... why would you *need* to change compression? Sure getting the compression higher would certainly help but I don't think you *need* to.
As for the P&P, why not? I mean you should be able to get a few HP out of that and a good builder should be able to do a nice job to complement your cams.
p&p is good but not for long time. i mean port is making it bigger and polish is mean making it smooth and gross, but polish only will last you 50 run on 1/4 miles, because the build up from cusbustion. i think port is good way to have more power but polish noo for me.
the polished shine will never last , but the meaning of the term is smoothing. Smoothing out the flow, deburring everything, not making it all pretty in there. Porting makes the ports larger and more balanced.
i have the skunk 2 stage 2s, they are being installed now. See my thread in the general forum. I will have dyno sheets in about 2 weeks if installation is smooth.
no havent even got it tuned yet. I will monday cause the guy with the dyno is sick, and i dont have a quartermile near where i live, only 1/8th, but in about a week ill give you some results
.
