reach 200 whp with no emissions/ect to worry about?

what all would i need to get 200 whp with no emissions to worry about?

all i have now is basically a AEM CAI and an exedy organic clutch.
01 base 5spd.

right now im thinking about getting those Crower Stage 2 cams with the modified idle lobe. and i take it i would need to upgrade the valves?
what exactially would i need 2 do?!

you would need upgraded valves/springs/retainers for sure.......

btw where are you located?

200 WHP is attainable without internal work. Good bolt-ons, 2.5" exhaust system, hondata p28 w/tuning. Cams I think are more costly just to achive that goal. Sure its popular and easy, but from what i have seen lately you dont need them to net 200 whp.

Reach that with the preliminary NA build stuff, then go internal if you want more.

w0rd. The entire exhaust system is crutial. Header to muffler.

You could also install a UR pulley set or EuroR IM & Crank pulley for some good numbers.

*"Bloke" is a slang term for "man," much like "Guy" or "dude." It is primarily used in Great Britain, Australia and New Zealand. *

serious note here - how about a vibrant header?

^^ Indeed, but they required a AEM EMS/standalone unit with good tuning. I think that is a little overboard for just a goal of just 200whp.

Exolude - I would suggest doing allot of searching, its pretty easy.

The UR pullies are a ligtht weight, underdriven replacement pulley set. This replaces the Alt, Power steering and crank pulley. There has been some controvsy over them, but allot of people have been running them for a while with no problems. Or you can look into the AEM (just alt and ps). AEM is proven 7WHP and the UR set has seen 10-14 WHP.

Well "good bolt-ons" I ment quality high flow, straight through stuff. Not your typical SRI,dc header, minor quiet exhaust.

I would reccommend SMSP or RMF header, SMS recomended hi flow cat, 2.5" custom ss/mineral bend piping, hi flow muffler. Or you could always get a Apexi N1, which is quite loud though.

Then P28 ECU with hondata or a free software like Neptune or Chrome.

Neptune's not free. and a P72 would make your life easier.

Hytech header + Hi-flow 2.5" OD cat + 2.5" OD exhaust + P72 with Neptune.

Thats my plan for 200whp with bolt-ons. We'll see how it goes.

You need good tuning more than anything else so you need OBDI. You can always swap the stock ECU back in for inspections.

Trying to break 200whp with a VAFC is going to take a lot of $$$ in cams and springs/retainers and it just won't be worth it IMO.

Chad, you done anything since the rebuild + Type S pistons?

note: crower stage 2 cams perform very well with higher compression (11:1/12:1)

Do keep in mind that emissions laws only get more strict with time - you may barely pass with all your mods to each 200whp, but it may hurt you in the end.
