Questions for possible summer build

Alright, first off I'm fairly new to all of this so I apologize ahead of time for any stupid questions... hopefully some people will take the time to answer so I can learn

I have a stock 2000 SH. I'm looking to get a noticeable power increase but with out going forced induction. From what I've heard new cams, header and exhaust are the best way to go about this. Therefore I'm looking for some opinions on what to get. I know it's a broad question but any advice would be awesome.

I also don't know what else I need to do allow my car to be able to take the increased power once I do install these new parts, so help there would be awesome too. I know I need new fuel injectors, but other than that I'm clueless.

Any help would be awesome, thanks!

I would suggest reading the faq's and doing some searching.

You are wanting what everyone else would want, more power. You didn't state a budget, you didn't state who would be doing the work, you didn't state how much experience you have with all of this.

Well I did say i'm new to all of this. To be more specific I have no real experience doing work to cars, and don't know much about whats what and what does what.

I'm not really able to give a budget just because I don't have any idea what price range we're talking, but I'll say I'm not looking for the most high end stuff, but mid range closer to high end.

As for who's doing the work, thats something I still need to figure out. I've had an offer from someone on the forums here who lives near me, or I might go to a local shop.

Again I know this is all pretty vague but i'm just looking for some basic suggestions and I can do the research from there. I'll look into the faqs as well.

Thanks

1. Ha, you might want to invest in a helms manual. It will basically tell you how to take apart the car and put it back together. Also having a basic understanding of cars would be helpful.

2. High end for that stuff is probably ~$5000 for parts and maybe some tuning. It defiantly can go up from there. Internal work is expensive just because you most likely will take the engine out.

3. I would research and talk around to see what shops might be reliable.
