port and polish intake manifold

what is the cost/hours in labor for port and polishing the intake manifold if i brought the car to a shop

what kind of gains would you expect from a n/a prelude h22a1 5spd w/ minimal modification

i've just heard that it was really good or would buying a euro h22 intake manifold be more cost effective since it flows very good...and where could i find one for not too much...i saw one on ebay a while back...any sites??

Porting a head is a delicate operation. Personally, I would only take it to a select few places I know are quality shops. It is easier to make the head worse than it is to make it better when porting. If you search, you will find previous discussions on which shops do a good job on the H22.

Regarding the Euro-R manifold, I would do that before I do a head. The gains will only be on the top of the powerband. Ideally, you should have the IM ported when you install it; that will help a little. Again, there are plenty of existing writeups on where to get one and what it takes to install it. The cost is going to be with the converstion, not necessarily the IM iteslf. You can get the IM for around $200-250. Installation costs will vary by where you go to get a conversion kit and how much they charge for labor.

you do you need a conversion kit for a euro-r h22 IM?

i don't want to port the head...just the IM

i either want to port/polish my current one from my h22a1 or get a euro-r IM...but I've also heard/read about the s2000 IM

and yes, i do want the power in the upper band...thats where i want to get my power increased

what do you think? good site to purchased a used euro-r or anything or info would be great!
