You know I've never heard of anyone using vtec pistons for an h23. Maybe I haven't read enough.

I thought there were two schools of thought: higher compression (type S pistons), lower compression for boost.

Heck I didn't even know the heads were different between h23's / h22's because I always assumed most ppl don't change it whenever they decide to slap on a h22 head.

Umm, I would be careful. VTEC pistons have a different compression height than H23 pistons. They may or may not cause valve impact issues or quench pad problems.

Also, if you change pistons, you should really re-hone the bores. New rings = new hone.

Not sure if you can do that. If you looking to bump compression the cheap way consider milling the head by a shop that knows what they are doing.

Other wise you could buck up and buy a forged high compression set of pistons

Why don't you just get JDM H22A, they got low miles, more power and it will probably be cheaper then rebuilding H23.
