Parts needed to convert H22 OBDI to II

I know the crank sensor is on the block vs in the distributor. looks like I'll need a sensor and harness, oil pump assembly(where it mounts) what else? pulleys?

Why are you going from OBD I to OBD II? I thought everyone was trying to go the other way.

all he means is, you're going from obd II to obd I not obd I to obd II. atleast that's what i'm assuming. cause i've never heard of anyone going from obd I to obd II, talk about a downgrade.

I hope you live someplace where getting your car smogged isn't an issue. Typically, you can only swap newer motors into your car. I.e., swapping a 1997+ motor into your 1997 Prelude. Failing emissions is not fun.

My suggestion would be to ditch the SS, get a total swap instead (H22 + Transmission) and convert to a manual. That would be about as difficult---and the gains would be much higher---than trying to convert an OBDI motor to OBDII for your swap.

This should be similar to swaping a JDM H22A into 5th gen. You'll need the oil pump w/ the sensors from an OBDII motor and the crank pulley. You will also need the OBDII distributor. And a few other items.

Here is a link to a post buy someone who recently put a JDM H22A in his 5th gen and kept the OBDII ECU.

5G H22A4 > H22A Swap Notes v2

Just to summarize, these are the parts he swapped from his old OBDII motor to the new one:
Quote:
4) Moved over the following from the old H22A4 motor:

a) Wiring Harness (OBD-II)
b) Distributor
c) Coolant Thermostat Housing
d) Oil Pump Housing
e) Crank Position Sensor and Top Dead Sensor (attached to OBD-II oil pump)
f) Exhaust header (JDM 4th Gen is different)
g) Intake manifold (if not using 5G IM, then move your fuel injectors over and get a 4G MAP sensor)
h) Knock sensor (BE VERY CAREFUL TAKING THIS OFF, THE CONNECTOR BREAKS EASILY)
i) Oil Pressure Sensor
j) Oil Pan & baffle
k) Oil Pan/Transmission Stiffener
l) Various gears from the timing belt side (crank gears especially - required for CKP/TDC sensors)
m) VTEC solenoid pressure switch (the connector seemed to be different on the H22A one?)
