The next step?

Just got done putting a jdm h22A in my si, and its running pretty cherry.

The engine is completely stock, minus the 10lb flywheel and new clutch and is a lot faster than my previous h23. And of course I have intake and headers too.

My question is this: Whats the next step? I would like to break into the engine, but I don't want to go much further than adjustable cam gears.

Without breaking into the engine, what are some goodies I can add on to this thing. Not necessarily to make it faster but just some things to make the engine run more smoothly. Any good chips for the ecu out there to lower the vtec engagement?

Should I hondata it? even with an all stock n/a motor?

you should get a better header.
and a 3" exhaust.
Then hondata for a quick tune.
Don't get cam gears for stock cams. Thats a waste.

Agreed, you don't need cam gears unless you have got a lot of other internal work.

You can get a programmable ecu but just know the tuning is great but know it's not anything significant. You might get slightly better mpg.

Lower vtec engagement normally means less power in h22's.

better headers... hmmmm but how much of an increase in hp am I really going to see with some high performance headers? I mean my cheap ass 60$ headers are wrapped so I think they would be up to par with a set of better more expensive headers.

That's completely wrong.

Well nowadays you have little shops replicating very expensive headers that had a lot of research and developement.

Those run 1200 dollars. Now you see the copies for a 3rd of the price. I think you need to do some more research in ths forum as you need a better understanding of how things work for the prelude.
