Yea im still undecided on which route to go, i understand if i go through with all the milling and stuf on type S pistons there might be no room. What iam really looking for is the reliabiltity of oem pistons. Also i noticed that OEM pistons seal better then aftermarket. if that makes any sense also. And i would just use stock bottom end until i would have enough money to finish it up. Im seeing if i could pull out 220 with stock bottom end. I think it could be done. Im also not gonna have PS or AC. Prolly gonna get my hands on euro R mani or a custom sheet metal IM that i know this guy is working on with a nice and big 70mm TB to let this 2,2 liter fat boy breath.

Maybe what I'm saying isn't clear enough. I'm not 100% convinced that you can mill that much with the stock pistons and still have enough squish. Valve to piston clearance is another issue.

Why? I'd think that they'd be fine, reliability-wise, if you don't push them too hard, or run them up too high in the RPM range.

Where in the world did you get this idea from? Pistons don't seal, the rings do.

I can't fathom spending that much money on a build up to suit the stock bottom end if you're going to build the bottom end eventually. I'd say save your money and do it right the first time. The money you're going to spend on that head with port work, combustion chamber work, and the welding is probably going to be close to $3k to $4k.

Maybe. The compression just isn't there, even with milling, welding, and other mods.

Yea i meant piston rings, my mistake. I typed my response real quick. O yea this will be on a jdm h22, not a usdm one. O yea this car will be used occasionally for auto - xing and drag racing. Its gonna be my daily ride on 93 oct.

why did you pick the dunk? i have the dunk cat-back system, just in case you dont know this, high way driving can drown a bit and the tip isnt EXACTLY round so those apexi silencers doesnt quite fit in there, i would think they would help out for noise on high way driving, other than that, local roads with dunk sounds nice and deep

since you already made your decision to buy all those things, i would look at your budget, and see how much money you have, i would rather have a tuned car with less parts than untuned with lot of bolt ons, just a thought

I actually like the dunk exhaust. Believe it or not, its one of the quietest exhaust's i've heard. I have enough money for tunning, not a problem, around 10-12 hours worth of tunning, either that or i can get a hook up and just rent the dyno for the whole day, so i dont heat soak it... my parts are already pouring in, ordered around 85%, a few more parts will arrive in the next few days.

you should change ur IM for ITB's and instead of getting an exhaust get an exhaust cut-out for when you wanna gun it. I'm sure you can get a lot of power with that on top of all the internal whatever mods you're gonna do.

I wanted to see what i could do with a somewhat streetable motor before going a little higher. I will be going ITB when i have enough funds to do so.

Ive had the exhaust since the begining....test pipe is fine.
