Need ECU opinions asap!!!

Hi, the h22a 5speed swap in my 97 base did not come with a ecu so im using the stock which was an automatic. The car idols weird and is weak!
I cant decide what ecu to get, p28/p72, i have the 0bd2-0bd1 harness.
I have a cai and full exhaust and apexi vafc.

What should i get and where is a good place to get it chipped and programmed?

Thanks

Is the only thing you need to make the car run correctly? If so, just to the auto-> manual ECU conversion. It's easy for anyone who can solder.

If you want to eventually tune the car, then you will want an OBD1 ECU. Technically a P72 is better, but more expensive. P28s are cheaper, but they lack IAB control.

you can convert your auto ecu to 5 speed ecu, any tuner nearby should be able to do that for you pretty cheap is just moving a resistor over

if you are set on going to a standalone OBDI get the p28, have your tuner chip it and dyno run it maybe cost ya 500-700 for everything depending on the shop and time they take along with dyno fees.
Just how much more are you wanting to add onto the car and are you aware of better piggy back options you have other than the vafc?
