Ok so I've got my 01 'Lude equipped with an AEM cold air intake and DC sports headers. I installed them four years ago right after I bought the car. I just read the posts in regards to what you regret and I noticed quite a few people saying they regret their AEM intakes. Since I just re-did the exhaust I was wondering what you guys would recommend for an intake and header setup. Thanks,
I like the intakes off of cosmoracing.com. They are a good company to deal with. As for headers how much are you willing to spend because I know where you cant get some headers for 50 and their is always smsp headers for like 1000.
My pockets are somewhat deep...lol...its tax season. I think I'll go with the Mugen. The guys at my local tune shop say that they are as good as the SMS from what they've seen.
What they told me exactly was that if I'm looking for a street application then Mugen is the way to go. If I was looking more for a race application then SMS would be the way to go.

wtf its a header lol. What is the difference between a street and race header? Aside of course from the street header making less power.
I would like to stay NA and see how far I can get with that. I read an article on an all Carbon Fiber 'lude that was making 350WHP with individual throttle bodies, with the engine bored and stroked as well as port and polish. Although turbo does interest me, I know it can be a hassle of some sorts to turn an NA engine into a Turbo engine.
If you are going to get itbs you are wasting time looking for intakes. I was going to say if you wanted to go turbo then no need to look for a header because a turbo uses a different type of header.
If you want to get that high in hp numbers then sms header would be the best way to get there.
