header v4.5 retested, better data

OK, im a dork, that said:

I couldnt sleep with the results i got on the last header test:

http://www.preludeonline.com/showthr...09#post1938609

There was too much variation in the runs, even thought there was a clear trend. So i did another test (takes 4-5 hours to do one). I was also not happy in not having a good baseline for the OE manifold, so i re-calibrated my GTech at 2 drasiticly different temps (i think this was the prob, the unit needs recalibration every season to compensate for +/- 80f weather) and retested. Here are the results, im still happy even though they arent as showy numbers as the last time:

Those are solid gains from 3800RPM up. This test makes me confident that its worth the $150 to do a GOOD head to head on a dyno (no open exhaust, multiple variables or tuning for my testing). This data also shows the slight improvement i was expecting in v4.5 over v4, as seen here:

v4 header done and tested

This test also lines up with the averaging work i did for the first v4.5 test. The first test didnt yeild a good OE manifold baseline, so i had to average and estimate the gains in the end. This was due to the now warm weather (+20f from v4 test date) and was corrected for be recalibrating the Gtech (only took 10min), v4.5 test 1 seen here:

v4.5 header tested with good results

here is the test variable data:
wunderground data for 071404 test:

8:53 PM
temp:72f
dew: 57.9f
humidity: 61%
baro: 29.75in
wind: WNW 12.7mph

SAE J1349 compensation for 8:53pm: 1.029
as always, BB6 aero drag loss estimate at 64mph = ~13whp

v4.5 test runs:
D1=135.5hp/114.7tq
D2=138.9hp/118.3tq
D3=138.0hp/118.0tq
D4=134.8hp/115.8tq
D5=139.8hp/117.9tq
D6=DNF (FU Visteon, I hope u guys can speak Manderin or Hindi AH HA HA!)

DAVG = 137.4 = D3

10:53 PM
temp: 69.1f
dew: 60.1
humidity: 73%
baro: 29.75 in
wind: N 9.2mph

SAE J1349 compensation for 11:53pm: 1.028
as always, BB6 aero drag loss estimate at 64mph = ~13whp

OE test runs:
C1=133.2hp/113.8tq
C2=134.0hp/113.7tq
C3=136.3hp/115.8tq
C4=135.3hp/115.3tq
C5=136.2hp/116.3tq
C6=135.5hp/115.9tq

CAVG = 135.1 = C4

Gotta get back to work, and then waste my weekend driving to Pittsburg. I think this is a much more accurate way of testing, and Im glad to be able to show gains from my design honestly.
